A counselor, writer and minister, I bring to my work as a counselor creativity, compassion and a commitment to honoring the potential for healing and growth in each person. Having earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling, I competed the Satir Family System yearlong training and an apprenticeship with the former staff of Elisabth Kubler-Ross. For over ten years I served on staff  of Safe Harbors workshops for adult survivors of child abuse.

The author of several books and co-author of two audio CDs, I also serve on staff for Life, Loss and Healing grief workshops.

I received the 2005 Richard Furman Baptist Heritage Award from Furman University in honor of my work, "(her) compassionate spirit, dedication to helping others and commitment to the potential for healing and growth in each person."

I believe that people who are able to make the decision to seek counseling have within themselves the resources for making positive change in their lives. My role is to work with you to help you discover, acknowledge and learn how to use those resources.
